The Diana Swimming Hole
Located four miles back towards town, this natural waterfall and swimming hole is a one mile hike to a 30 ft cliff with an equally deep swimming hole below. Not for the faint of heart! (picture coming soon)
The Indian Bathtubs
Located a short drive from here, this Zen like spot on the river is the ultimate in beauty and tranquility. The 8 – 10 ft deep holes in the granite form a natural bathtub while the creek gaily bounces around you and cascades over rock, forming a lovely waterfall in a small pool. Nearby this spot are many grinding holes in the granite, obviously a favorite spot for the native Miwok Indians that came before.
Off Road Lookouts
There are several that are a short drive from the property, with views of the Clark Range in Yosemite, and even Half Dome in the far distance.
Yosemite
A 25 mile drive from Kowana Valley will bring you to the Crane Flat Ranger Station, one of the gateways to this wonderful National treasure called Yosemite.
A few minutes from the entrance is the trail to Merced Grove of Giant Sequoias.
A few minutes down Evergreen Road is the trailhead at Carlon, the start of a 1-2 mile hike to a lovely waterfall.
Yosemite Valley, and all the wonder it has to offer is another 1/2 hr drive once you are through the park entrance gates.
